‘German Speaking’ Regional PMA Chapter on Xing Xpert Ambassador Controlling Group

As one of the PMA initiatives, Lukas Michel has founded an official regional ‘German speaking’ chapter of the PMA. The idea is to strengthen the exchange among regional members, virtually through rich discussions on an online discussion platform and physically through regional events.

For this, we have joined forces with the XING Xpert Ambassador Group Controlling. This is a virtual Platform of about 18’500 members, predominantly located in German speaking Central Europe. XING is the leading business network in German speaking Europe. It provides a high quality online discussion forum that is free to use.

The majority of XING/Controlling members are business people that are between 30-40 years old and work in medium to large size corporate organizations. 20% are entrepreneurs and executives. About the same amount are members from the academic community. As with the PMA, the membership attracts professionals from various fields, such as finance, human resources, quality, measurement, and consulting.

Over the last six years, ‘XING/Controlling’ members have contributed with over 9’000 articles in the areas of managerial control, performance management, accounting, and managerial tools. The nature of articles vary from “How to do it” to elaborate conversation about modern control in the 21st century. The Controlling Forum has become a source of information, exchange, and contacts for those interested in the field of managerial control.

Up to fifteen times per year, the Group organizes ControllerLaunches® in cities, such as Hamburg, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, Dusseldorf, and Berlin with 15-80 participants per location and event. The standard format of these after work events include presentations and networking opportunities combined with local culinary experiences. Long-term sponsors ensure low participation fees and high quality conduct of these events.

The XING/Controlling Group is tightly facilitated by four professionals in the field. PMA Member Lukas Michel manages this platform jointly as a Controlling Xpert Ambassador.

Looking forward, XING/Controlling plans to conduct regular ControllerLaunches® in further cities across Europe. At the same time, larger events such as an annual Conference are planned to strengthen the ties between business and academia. The online forum will soon be expanded to host professional documentation of events, publications, and calendars of the world-wide professional community.
